Inspired by the native trees that are at home in the Scottish Highlands.

Julia Anne has been inspired by the native birch woodland that is right on our doorstep and how they change colour throughout the seasons.

In this piece Julia uses intense blues, turquoise and greens to reflect the vibrancy of the birch trees as they come to life again in springtime in their local habitat.

This watercolour has been painted in a freehand semi-abstract style, using rock salt to give the trees their unique appearance.
